5 Quality Management Trends to Watch Out! | DLP India

It was back in 1920 when the concept of “Quality Management” was incepted with an objective to produce quality products in large numbers at a lower cost. The prime approach followed at that time was to use a formula based on certain statistical methods. This formula helped in optimizing quality management across the products with improved efficiency.

In today’s era, quality is still considered to be one of the key characteristics as far as the customers are concerned. “Quality Gap” is a term which is often used by the entrepreneurs and leads them to get a competitive edge over their competitors.

The “Quality Gap” is actually the difference between the qualities of the same products which are provided by the competitors in the same market.

Latest Quality Management Trends

Now, let’s move on to the latest quality Management trends to watch out in the coming year and which are likely to impact all the industries.

1. The Cloud Technology

Cloud technology has already become a mainstream asset for almost all the industries. The integration with cloud-based platforms will help the quality managers to optimize process visibility as well as seamless system integration across the entire supply chain.  With the upcoming subscription-based models along with the minimal on-premise infrastructure, manual processes can now leapfrog directly over these stellar cloud-based platforms for quality management.

2. Omni-Channel Communications

As more and more mobile innovations are coming on stream, instant communications can be made from any remote location. These omni-channel communications offer a real flexibility in the supply chain management which further minimizes errors and data losses.

All thanks to the ubiquity of mobile devices!

3. Data Analytics

A detailed audit trail of assets and activities across the organization are presented by Data Analytics when integrated with the enterprise system. These statistics prove to be a valuable aid to the quality managers.  The grip of Big Data will be strengthening in the upcoming years which will help in receiving predictive analytics and industry compliant data.

4. Internet of Things

The Internet of Things or IoT connects all the electronic devices to the internet which aids in real-time communication across diverse locations. IoT helps to eliminate human errors, improve quality and cost, and most importantly to assess the delivery timelines.

5. Supplier Specific Quality Standards

There are a number of issues associated with the tools and processes of the supply chain management. Resolution of these issues costs a handsome amount for the organizations. A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt professional will help you in understanding and identifying the business problems. By utilizing supplier specific quality standards, you can effectively minimize the risk associated with the time uncertainty for your supply chain management.

6. Globalized Quality

Gone are the days when quality management was restricted only to the manufacturing and IT industry. Quality management has spawned across all types of industries and is given prime importance. Globalized quality management is now practiced across all major public and private sectors. It is no longer the sole responsibility of suppliers to maintain the quality but also of the end users.

7. Customer Expectations

The ultimate goal of every Quality Management activity is “customer satisfaction”.  By managing the quality of your products/services, you do not only meet the customer’s expectations but also look out to improve their standard of living. All this is achieved by providing quality products which are affordable, user-determined and perfect for their needs.

Wrapping Up:

After considering these emerging trends, we get an enticing picture regarding the transformed visibility and reliability across the supply-chain management as well as the organization which is all set to mark an inevitable positive impact on all the industries.
